Today on inauguration I learned that there are certin traditions that are followed. I earned that the president-elect always goes to church on inauguration day. Also, I learned that there is always a luncheon after the president gets sworn in. After, there is a parade where the president and the vice president ride in a limo and go to the White house where they will be living for the next 4 or 8 years.

Today, Tuesday, January 20th, is a day of history. Barack Obama and Joe Biden have been sworn in as President and Vice President of the United States of America. As the first inauguration of an African American President, today is special. The exciting ceremony of our new President has been fun to watch. However, a list of events must be done.

First Barack learns defense codes- for he has a responsibility of the forces. Next, he and his family attend church. Then the President that Obama will take over for, George Bush, meets with Obama for a peaceful transition of power.

Then it’s time for the President and the Vice President elect to be sworn in, officially taking over office.

To celebrate, after many speeches, there’s a luncheon for the President that senators and the House of Representitives attend.

A proud parade follows, and tonight there will be a ball.
